Do you know the hands that picked your coffee?
Linh asked us if we knew the hands that picked our coffee. We did not. So we went to find out, and we keep going. Membership funds the going back.
Solomon
Solomon Tekle was born in Kaffa. For decades he has documented the oral histories and ceremonies of the forest. His scholarship is the foundation of the Ethiopian chapter of the Living Library. The work he is doing this month is funded by Cultural Explorers.
Membership, not a coffee subscription. The shape NPR runs on, PBS, Patreon, Hiut Denim's HistoryTag, Riverford community shares. The work is free. Membership funds the work.
£13.95 a month. One 250g bag, delivery included. The numbers behind it:
| Subscription price | £13.95/month |
|---|---|
| Royal Mail delivery, included | £3.50 |
| Coffee plus roasting plus packaging | £6.60 |
| Net | £3.85 |
That £3.85 runs the business, funds the next expedition, and (when sustainability triggers) sends 20% of gross subscription receipts back to producer communities. When blue-ocean revenue uses producer-specific material, a named flow goes to that producer's community alongside the covenant. Activates at sustainability. Not before. You will know because we will show you the numbers.
